I just installed WoW, fresh off. Is there any way I can update before registering an accout? I'm only gonna get an international credit card tomorrow and I know the update takes a loooooooooooooooooooong time, naturally I want to get it over with now. Now that you know my very valid reason is there any way I can do that thing without registering first?
By the way, I was one of the original-original members of this forum back in 2000-2001 I think it was... really old forum where there was hardly a couple of posts a day, can you believe it? Posting here asking a stupid question is almost like coming full circle to me. ;)
PS: Allow editing of titles, this is stupid. I can't correct gane=game.

Out of curiosity, what's the reason for that Xlorep?
The wowwiki warns that they're not trojan/virus free, so no thanks... if there's no safe way to do it I guess I'll have to wait a day or two

There are mirrors where they are safer -- patch mirrors officially supported by Blizzard. I don't remember their names off hand though.

Well, the good thing is that as it turns out you can update the game even with an old out-of-use accont, and my cousin just so happened to have one. On the downside the downloader is slow as heck. It was slow as heck when I tried to download the trial and it's slow as heck now. And yes, I did all the things in their "downloader help webpage" but none of them worked. You wouldn't imagine a game with reportedly over 8 million players would have such a common problem.
Actually ignore my mini-rant, it's not that bad. I'll probably have it worked out by tomorrow. Thanks... nice to be posting here again. I thought I'd be feeling strange cosmic vibe being here but everything is so changed it's like I'm posting at a forum I've never seen before.
While I'm here I got another question (sorry if it seems like I'm spamming): Are there servers for those with expansion and for those without? I mean, how does the expansion thing works in terms of seperating the playerbase?
