New WoW festival: Gankfest

I play on a PvP server and I love it. I got ganked countless times and I wished sometimes I would have rolled PvE but in the end I'm glad I play PvP.

I'm lvl 70 and 90% of the time running around with 4 other 70 I've been leveling with since day one. Obviously we're not easy target for wanna be ganker.

Now to my point. Why in the hell did Blizzard made the new festival event in moonglade? Only been playing for 10 months so it's the first time I see this festival but isn't kinda stupid to put it in a contested zone?

Special event like that are suppose to be a nice way to relax and do fun quest for cool reward to get away from the usual grinding/questing/instancing/ganking... but now in order to do the quest I have to get my entire guild and kill every freaking alliance in moonglade. Not only that but we'll have to raid Goldshire just to make a statement.

I personally don't care that much about event but my friend really likes it. She loves the little costumes/fireworks/pets/whatever you can get from it. I thought we could have a fun relaxing time doing something different but we ended up fighting for our life and then going back with the group to clean the place.

In the end we never completed the damn thing. Maybe it's a bit our fault for getting sidetracked and chasing alliance across the entire zone but I blame Blizzard for not putting the quest in controlled territory.

I'm going to take a wild stab at this (crazy, I know) and suggest that Blizzard placed the event in Moonglade because it is a lunar festival. Again, just a crazy, wild guess. ;)

Now, the debate on whether or not Moonglade should be a neutral territory is certainly a valid argument - it would make sense for tree-hugging nature freaks (druids!) to maintain a pacifist existence. On the other hand, if you tick off Mother Nature, you're in for a world of hurt.

Perhaps you should make a suggestion to Blizzard that they make anyone on the quest to be a neutral character while in the zone, or even make Moonglade a neutral zone (for the duration of the festival, for example). Worth a shot, I suppose. In any event, I can see how this event could be frustrating on a PvP server, especially if you are a lowbie unable to adequately defend yourself against evil 70 gankers with a 'tude. Good luck.
